The instant messaging network WhatsApp just introduced a new tool dubbed ‘edit message’ as part of its ongoing effort to improve the user experience. The functionality will initially support just iOS and will be made accessible via an app update in the near future.

According to a report from WABetaInfo, the new functionality will allow iOS device users to simply and rapidly change their messages without sending additional messages.

The “edit message” functionality is coming to WhatsApp for iOS

In addition, it will improve communication between users by providing a method for users to guarantee their communications are clear, error-free, and succinct.

In addition, the report indicated that messages can be updated within 15 minutes and will be labeled “modified” in the message bubble.

At the time of writing, it was claimed that the edit messages functionality was still under development with no release date specified.

In the meanwhile, WhatsApp has established its official conversation on the platform, where users can receive the most up-to-date information about the program, including iOS and Android upgrades and usage recommendations.

The conversation is denoted with a green label and contains instructions on how to use the application as well as information about new features and upgrades.

Verified badges indicate that the chat is genuine, preventing users from falling prey to frauds or phishing efforts that resemble WhatsApp’s official account.
