After introducing a new ‘deep discover’ experience to its mobile app, Spotify has announced that it would be releasing an updated version of its desktop application. A new “your library” sidebar will soon be available on the music streaming platform’s desktop software and web player, as was recently announced by the company.

The corporation made the announcement earlier in April that it will be discontinuing its live audio app.

According to a blog post published by Spotify, “The new Your Library sidebar improves the collection and retrieval of all types of content, bringing new features to the desktop that you are already familiar with in the mobile app.” The company also mentioned that the sidebar is now more adaptable to individual preferences.

Users will be able to access all of the content that is contained within the Spotify collection, such as albums, artists, playlists, and podcasts. Because it has a flexible resizing feature, users can hover over the right edge of the sidebar and click on it to drag it to a width that better suits their needs. In addition, users have the ability to fully expand the sidebar by clicking on the ‘your library’ heading to view solely art cover images. Users also have the ability to “pin” their favorites, which can include a maximum of four playlists, folders, artists, albums, and podcasts.
