Sony India has released the FE 50mm F1.4 GM lens. Despite its wide aperture, this premium e-mount lens is small and lightweight, according to the manufacturer.
When employing autofocus, the lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.41 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.16 meters. Autofocus has a minimum focusing distance of 0.38 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.16x.

With a 67 mm thread mount, filters compatible with Sony’s FE 24mm F1.4GM and FE 35mm F1.4 GM lenses will also be compatible with this lens.
According to Sony, the FE 50mm F1.4 GM lens’ autofocus is roughly twice as quick as “traditional versions with same characteristics. The lens is equipped with XD linear motors and control algorithms that optimise responses to control signals for more precise focusing, less vibrations, and quieter autofocus. This should make the lens suitable for videography.
It also includes Sony’s Nano ARE Coating II, which eliminates reflections in backlit scenes.
According to the manufacturer, the lens’ 11-blade circular aperture provides “crisp realism” throughout the maximum aperture range. While shooting at F1.4 with the aperture wide open, the lens should provide creamy bokeh and a high depth of focus that clearly separates subjects from backgrounds.
Two extreme aspherical elements of the FE 50mm F1.4 GM lens are designed to efficiently correct field curvature and aberrations. It is constructed with one element of extra-low dispersion glass that is designed to reduce chromatic aberrations so that pictures remain crisp and sharp without color bleeding.
Beginning on April 3, the Sony FE 50 mm will be available at Sony Centers, Alpha Flagship shops, Amazon, Flipkart, Sony’s website, and other major retailers. The cost of the lens is Rs 149,900.
