The seventh-generation Mustang was introduced by Ford in September of last year. The 2024 Ford Mustang is equipped with a variety of new technological features, one of which is dubbed “Remote Rev” This novel feature allows Mustang owners to rev the engine using the car’s key fob.
According to reports, the new Remote Rev feature will be available on models equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine and an automatic transmission, as well as the 2.3-liter Ecoboost models equipped with Ford’s Active Exhaust. In addition
Ford has clarified that the feature can only be activated after the engine has attained optimal temperature following a cold start.
To activate Remote Rev, owners of the 2024 Mustang must sequentially press the unlock and lock controls on the key fob within three seconds. The engine will accelerate to 2,000 rpm before activating the feature. The owners must then repeat the unlock & lock sequence a second time, which will power the engine to 5,000 rpm three times.
The pre-programmed redline of 5,000 rpm for the remote rev feature ensures the engine’s safety. After three engine revolutions, the feature will enter standby mode; customers can reactivate it by repeating the unlock and lock button presses on the key fob.
