A few weeks ago, Amazon offered the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro at an all-time low price of approximately $360. From a list price of $449.99, the finest Samsung smartwatch currently available has been marked down by $135, a price reduction that is unprecedented.
This is yet another excellent and somewhat random Amazon deal unmatched by the likes of Best Buy or Samsung’s official US e-store, and while it doesn’t make the Watch 5 Pro as affordable as the “regular” Galaxy Watch 5, it’s difficult to pass up for a variety of reasons.
The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (or Watch 6 Pro) may not have a battery as huge as its predecessor, which would please Samsung fans who want the rotating bezel back.
For those who don’t enjoy hugging a wall after less than 24 hours of smartwatch use, the aforementioned antecedent remains a compelling value proposition. In addition, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is undeniably one of the best-built smartwatches on the market, boasting a super-durable titanium case and sapphire crystal display protection for exceptional damage resistance.
The display is also a thing of beauty, with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels and a generous 1.4-inch diagonal crammed into a body virtually identical to that of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. In terms of health features and fitness tracking tools, it’s virtually impossible to find anything “wrong” with this profoundly discounted bad boy, particularly since Samsung enabled its dormant skin temperature sensor for more accurate menstrual cycle monitoring.
Only compatible with Android devices, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is the best Wear OS-powered alternative to the industry-leading Apple Watch Series 8 and one of the world’s top smartwatches overall.
While the aforementioned $135 (or 30 percent) Amazon price reduction is exclusive to the black Watch 5 Pro with Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, the black and gray Watch 5 Pro with cellular connectivity costs just $60 less than usual at the time of writing, representing a modest 12 percent discount.
